Its just as the title implies and is full of a bunch of up-and-comers....shredding. The stuff just keeps coming, so let's hope the snow just keeps going!

This case is stuffed with killer wheels, fast bearings and good trucks.

It's surprising us how people are realizing that good bearings are in fact better.
We got in a few pairs of Deklines too, these are the Aristo in black croc.
And the Paxton in Black/Electric.
And the Sixer, in brown croc.
A rack full of small-ish cruisers, a choice for all tastes for sure.
There are some sick ones in here.
A few more Santa Cruz jobbies, and a couple World mini's for the little tikes, perfect for someone about 4-8 or so.
Some of the bigger boards.
Some new Landyachtz, super solid, super quality, and built for speeeeeed!
Hosoi regular shape, Pop Art, little complete, and a couple cruisers from Pocket Pistols.
And the PP decks. Super Rat, Blackhart, Lee Ralph, Chicken's, Bible, Katen. These boards are pretty big, definitely not for the meek! I think a couple guys have been waiting for some of these boards, so hopefully you see this and get at us.

We'll be expanding the shoe selection here at Uptown, so far it's more of what you've been asking for, Vans. Some classic Slip-Ons, and a few others.
We've had a couple pairs of these for awhile, and just got some more sizes (a few of you have been asking).
Grey suede Sk8-Hi's, these are nice.
All black Sk8-Hi. Metal.
Anti-Hero TNT4's, I'm getting a pair of these.

Today sure feels like it, and I think we're going to get a killer sesh this afternoon. The crew is chomping at the bit.

So with what feels like the arrival of spring for real, we're getting stuff in like crazy nowadays. Lots of new clothes shoes, and skateboards downtown, and here's what we've gotten in at Uptown lately.

Jake Phelps deck from Pocket Pistols and a Hosoi. The Phelps has a 15" wheel base, and is about 8.5" wide. The Hosoi is also 15" wb, and the width, well it varies obviously.

A few new Creatures, from 7-5/8" to 8-1/4".

This goat mask comes with the one on the right! Fuck a helmet, they should make goat masks mandatory!
A few little cruuuuzzzzzers for cruuuzzzing. The two on the right come with OJ3s, super nice wheels. They come with either Krux or Bullet trucks. Karrruuuuuzzzzz.

Well we finally got a bit of new stuff at Uptown, and there should be some more skate stuff here later this week. Also we'll be open more often now that a hint of spring is here. The crew wrecked shit and cleared out both bowls over the past week, so big thanks and huge beers are due to Dale, Selwyn, Lavers, Hung, Baller, Michel, Steve, Mark, Shane, Riley, and anyone else that may have thrown some snow and a crazy amount of ice out of the bowls. Good work fellas, now hopefully this shit is done.
Dave might be jumping the gun a little, since there is absolutely no sun inside at Uptown, but he couldn't wait to show off the beach kit we have. And he will use any excuse to de-clothe. Towel, trunks, and body adornments, which also work as belt buckles. (You can see my boot in the corner, he wanted me to step on him, it was weird.)
AntiHero coozy and shades.

This little guy's not quite ruling Youtube yet, but he's the youngest ripper we know who's "riding" skateboards right now. (probably followed soon by Rob's little guy Isaac)
This is Greg's son Jack, who just turned 1 about a month ago. He's obviously surrounded by skate stuff all the time, and by the tales of his proud papa has a real natural interest. Always watching, playing, and now rolling on a board, if he can get a hold of one.

It looks like he gets his fingers nice and juicy, then tries to lube up the bearings more. He's got a need for speed! Or he's just checking the axle nut.

I bought these 2 gems from a Hare Krsna today. He was in regular clothes, so I didn't have any idea, but as soon as he walked in the store I could tell he was selling something. He said he had no scams, not even any prices, he just accepted donations. Well what I offered apparently wasn't enough of a "donation", so we haggled. He said people gave anywhere from 8-20 bucks for each, so I offered him 10 bucks but I wanted three. We settled at 9 bucks for two. He insisted the wholesale cost was 3 bucks, but if he paid any more than 25 cents for them, well, he must be, uhh, crazy. But then again, I paid $4.50 each. Oh well, he's a traveling spirit. I like to help.

Most of them were pretty cheeseball, but some (like these) were amazing.

You have to see them in person for all the colours man.

He pulled out this pamphlet, and wanted to talk me through it. I convinced him to just leave it with me.

Uptown Shred Sesh

We got about a foot of snow Friday night, so skate season is pretty much dunski. (til the next thaw anyway, and if you have an indoor spot, let us know!)
While I was getting ready to go for a shred with Jermaine after work, Dave decided he was gonna mess around on the ramp in front of the store.
The weapons of choice, a 5 year old Dominant, or a Blind skate deck. Dave chose the Blind.

Here's a couple big wide bodies. The Salba Bevel has wide Kruxeses and 65mm softies. The Creature is a pretty limited Jeremy Fish graphic, #51 of 300, with Indys and 66mm Gravity softies.

3 from SHUT Skates. Frost Pink, Local 158, and the SIFU. All with Indys and big soft wheels.
A couple Vets Div. boards, Zero Garret Hill, and a killer Grosso with Label wheels. All with Indys of course.

We haven't gotten anything new in for the past few days, so I'm just gonna mention some stuff that's in the store that I really like.
First order of awesomeness, it's warm this week, so I rode the XS today.
Bra Boys. I watched this last night, it's pretty sick. I guess these things aren't really in the store, but they're here with me today. Little plug for Video Difference too, wicked independent video store, that happens to carry Teeth Beneath. I was in there last night, and was just browsing for something new, and a dude held it up smiling and said "This is good". We had a chuckle, true story.
Creature mask. I'm not sure how often you'd get to wear this, but the few times you could would be worth it. Killer.
Speaking of Killer, Iron Maiden Killers Vans. This is the last pair we have, size 11.
Levi's 501s. I think these guys have been making jeans for a while.
Indy TNT Jacket. Just a really nice classic bomber jacket, with some Indy details.
I obviously like motorcycles, so I like these decks. Max Schaaf builds bikes, and Ryan Smith almost died on his. His bike is back together now, and he's ripping again.
Our latest tee shirt. Zach and Tyler were working on this secretly and then had to give it up for an ad. Watch for the newest SBC mag, there should be a lot of Pro/Halifax content.
I know I just blogged Spitfire, but damn, these must be good. Spitfire has been making the sickest line-up of wheels for a while now, so they're bearings must be hot. Can't wait to roll some of these.

Disposable. Such a rad book. You flip through this and just kinda freak, remembering boards, sessions, spots, ramps, all the rad times you've had skating over the years. If you remember any of it of course.

Ok if you are into Fu Manchu, then you may want these wheels. I know you might be used to the 53s you usually ride, and the ability to do a few tricks with them, but wouldn't it be worth giving that up for the smoovness of these babies? And if you aren't into Fu Manchu, you should be.

Here are a few new Anti Hero decks. From the top down, Small, Med, Large, and XL in different graphics. The Small isn't drilled for trucks, so you can choose your own wheelbase, that's sick. And it's shiny.
Creature and a couple Krookeds. The top Gonz is a Jason Adams guest model. He does a lot of sick spray paint stencils. Cheese, you see this?

Bunch of new mid-sized Spits, and a Zippo. See that set with the pink and blue? Killer, like when you traded a couple of your Mini Cubics or whatever wheels you had back in the 80s.

This isn't specifically for cruising, but it helps,

Cool little Indy keychain. It's a bit fragile at the kingpin and grommet, so it might be better as a cool rear view mirror dangler, or christmas tree ornament, or body adornment, or whatever. I just wouldn't recommend putting it in your pocket with a bunch of keys, cause it's either going to break or stick in you.

If you have a bar, or a longboard, or an empty space on your wall, then this should be screwed to it. It friggin opens bottles!

Vans have done a series of shoes for some of the SOTYs, these were for Cardiel I think. He's gonna be back soon we hear. This is such a classic look, black upper, white sidewall with the black line. If you haven't noticed, half of the best shoes these days look like this.

Erik is our Circa rep, he came to show us the new shoes for fall. Of course he couldn't leave without playing some darts.
As you can see, he played with enthusiasm.

But he was so bad we told him he might as well close his eyes, so, he did.

He was like, "Pfffft whatever Zach, you have no game."

But he wasted no time getting the hell out of the way when Zach was ready to throw.

I guess I could have taken some pictures of the shoes that will be coming out next fall, but I didn't think about it. Oh well, you'l see them before you know it. Thanks for coming out again Erik.

I was playing a little "baseball" with the only person to give me a game lately, me. The pressure was on in the end, it was 96 to 81 for me, and I was up. A couple regular nines would have done it and gotten me the win, but I didn't want to just beat the champion, I wanted to do it with panache.

Dance Dance Revolution

DDR, for those in the know. The girls got it for us for Xmas. James and his brother came by itching to play it, they couldn't wait to set it up.
Luke claimed to not have a clue how to play it, but he kept telling us what buttons to press, and always knew how to make it work. "Press Start!, now select. now X!" Yet he sucked at it, go figure.

Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step" is an early favourite, and James was amazingly good. I'm pretty sure when he left he was on his way to pick up his own.
